Weekly Post (week 10)

1. What you did in the prior week
In the last week, I helped the team to complete the bridge competition. The bridge did not work as well as we anticipated. I think it is because I changed the middle part of the bridge compare to the bridge 1. What’s more, we assigned the A-4 into individual to efficiently finish the report.

2. What you and your teammates have agreed you'll do in the coming week
In the week 10, we will conclude what we have learned in the past weeks, and analysis the failure of the bridge. It is the last assignment that we will have in this quarter.

3. Major accomplishments of the week for the team
We complete the truss bridge competition. The final cost/ pound number is 12253.52 which is around the average of the class. The result of the competition is not as good as our expectation. The bridge was collapsed at the bottom part of the bridge which is also different from our expectation. We expected that the bridge would collapse at the middle top part of the bridge.

4. Issues that the team or you as an individual faces
We will analysis the failure of the bridge and finish the final report.

5. You've now completed a term focused on the design of large objects. Look back over the course (our section) goals and your posts for the term and identify the following:

Did you learn something worthwhile about each of the topics identified in the course goals?
A goals list was given at the beginning of the term, and we were told we would meet by the end of the term. I learned a lot of design process and physical modeling during the term. What’s more, it is important to work with a team for a design.

What was least beneficial for you? We won't reduce your grade if you're critical, but          remember this is a public page so avoid criticizing any individual by name.
All we have learned in the class benefited us in some ways or the others.

What was most beneficial for you?
I am a biomedical student, for me, the learning of the design process benefits me the most. No matter what I am designing, wheelchair or bridge, they should all follow the same design processes which are planning, designing, testing, analyzing.

Make any suggestions you think would help us improve this section's operation next time.
1. I hope when we are doing the WPBD design, some helpful suggestion could be given before the A-1 assignment.
2. It would be better that if we have chance to test the bridge after class just like the ENGR 102 project.
3. The percentage of the final report could be reduced.
